It's been so fun to connect with new people through my kids' school! The musical director asked me to do headshots for this year's Spring Musical and this wonderful lady is one of the staff helping put on the musical. She's fun and energetic and after leaving the corporate world, she has definitely found her calling in the classroom! So many kiddos are going to be blessed through her! It was a joy to get to meet her family and kick off this year's Spring Minis!
Let's talk outfits for a minute...we all know choosing family outfits can be tricky and is often the reason mamas put off booking a photo session. I'll be using this season to point out why outfits work together and the thought process for picking your own wardrobe for your next session! Don't let clothes be a roadblock for capturing precious memories of your sweet family!
I love the pops of color Amanda brought in for this spring session making it so bright and happy! She used the colors from her dress as a way to coordinate the rest of guys' shirts. I always recommend mama choose her outfit first because it's best for mama to love her own outfit and then coordinate everyone else around her. Amanda tied everyone together with blue jeans, mixing shades and using a jean jacket for herself to alternate with the guys' pants. I love that she kept everyone else in solids and used a simple pattern for her own dress. This is a great way to add visual interest to your group photos without it getting too busy with too many patterns.
