Christmas Tree Farm Minis at the Country Cove Christmas Tree Farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee look like you walked right into a Hallmark Christmas movie! This year you can look forward to the most beautiful cozy sets to help you capture the perfect Christmas card photo, including a vintage truck styled with a cozy Christmas picnic, a hot cocoa stand for the kids to pretend to sell yummy treats, Christmas tree fields for families to wonder through like they are choosing the perfect tree, an outdoor green velvet couch in a hallway of tall pine trees with stacks of cut logs ready for the fire, and more!
Christmas mini session are 15 minutes long and include 5 images with a full gallery upgrade available after you see your online gallery. These 15 minute sessions are the perfect amount of time to capture beautiful family photos at a variety of the 13 sets around the tree farm. We keep our time together fun, short, and sweet so everyone has a good time during the session, even those family members that don't love having their pictures taken!
To the clients who have asked me if 15 minutes is enough time or if a mini session is a good fit for their family, I want to reassure you that YES! It is!
You are not the first client with crazy kids or a husband that would rather be doing something else or insecurities about what to do during a session to look your best and get the images you want. I have many years of experience perfecting the art of fast posing, clear directions, working with busy littles, and winning dad over. My goal at every session is for mom to leave with the family photos she dreamed of, dad actually enjoying the session, the kids feeling like the got to play, and the family as a whole feeling like they made fun memories together during their session with me.
This Christmas promo session below was with my sweet cousin's family. Looking through their gallery you would never know that it was 90+ degrees outside with what felt like 100% humidity and her littlest guy wanting nothing to do with pictures that day...and that's the whole point! We left that session with the boys giggling and playing and everyone with big smiles on their faces.
To the photographer who is reading this and struggling with family sessions for all the reasons I just listed, I want to encourage you that you can do it! Remember to be flexible. Come prepared with a mental playlist of the shots you need to capture. Follow the kids' lead and interests during your time together. Capture the in-between moments of connection between the family members. Do your research through a client questionnaire about who will be in the photos, client concerns or possible limitations, and the ages and interests of the kids coming so you know how to connect with them quickly during your session. If the family you are serving has littles, be ready to sing songs, dance, make silly noises, crack jokes, and just play. Educate your parents that they don't need to stress about anything, they just need to come ready to have fun because a happy, calm mom and dad make for happy kids and great photos! Photographer friend, I'm cheering you on because every family deserves great family photos and every photographer deserves to walk into every session confidently ready to serve their clients well!
